regarding the Russian-Ukraine War

The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia has led to displacement and loss of homes, loss of loved ones, and economic instability globally. The situation has also resulted in restrictions on freedom of movement, access to essential goods and services, and access to healthcare.

Every governmental authority is fighting for its own interests and not to help those in need. Working for the public is supposed to be their duty as someone in authority. The people have been paying their tax even if they have no source of income which is where the governmental officials get their salary from. That is hardly a sign of bravery and they are just taking advantage of the benefits while doing nothing regarding the inflation caused by the war.

The war has not only affected the soldiers fighting on the front lines but also innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly. The bombardment of cities, towns, and villages has left thousands of people dead or wounded, while the destruction of homes and infrastructure has rendered millions of people homeless and destitute.

Other countries have become spectators who watch and listen to news. But what we don't realize is that we are gradually losing our people, resources and many more to the inflation caused by the war. Inflation in basic necessities has not directly impacted a person in a position like yours but low-income people have been dying daily, unable to afford commodities needed to make ends meet.

The countries with power have only been misusing science to terrorize the world and it needs immediate halt. We should use it better to solve the issue at hand. Science is to be used to make better technology and make the lives of the people easier, not to make them suffer. It is the time for mutual cooperation and benefiting from development and not from destruction of existing infractures on the cost of the lives of the people.

What I do not understand is why Nepal is staying silent when this matter has been affecting us for over a year now. The people from Ukraine are also humans like us and the pain they feel is also similar to ours. The pain a person suffers from when they lose their body part or family member can be understood by us only when we and the leaders personally go through it. When someone kills their family member or leaves them disabled, they will understand what is going on in Ukraine and Russia, their pain and their suffering.

The leaders of Ukraine and Russia are strongly passionate about their patriotism. When their passion lessens and they start seeing the actual suffering of the people, there will be nothing left to see. Everything will already have been destroyed and the people will have been devastated till the point of no return.

Therefore, we should not start something we cannot control. If the conflict results in war, it will spread like wildfire and destroy everything. It will only be detrimental to the economically disadvantageous people while the people in power enjoy their rights.

We as humans are born for humanitarian causes, and like when sweetness is separated from sugar it loses its core value, when humanity is separated from humans, they lose their fundamental value. A true person is the one who speaks the truth without getting scared with anything or anyone. The world needs a person like fire who doesn't discriminate between anyone and burns with equal degree to everyone, no matter whether they are a president or a homeless person.

I have been watching the view-points of various countries for the past year but all I could see was everyone trying to profit from the war instead of trying to stop it, no one is clear regarding their stance. They only have eyes on the profit. The people who sell weapons want the war to happen so they can supply their goods to Ukraine and the ones buying fuel from Russia don’t want the war to stop so they could profit from it. But I neither sell weapons nor directly profit from the fuel sold by Russia. I am a common man who doesn’t want the people to suffer or bear loss of lives due to this ongoing conflict.

I have been sending numerous emails to the presidents, the ambassadors, governmental representatives and representatives of organizations like NATO, WHO, UNO. But I wonder why I haven’t heard anything back from anyone, and why my voice isn’t being heard. Are the concerned leaders so busy that they do not have time for global issues? Are they not ready to listen to the voices of the common people? Does the war not bother them? Do I need to start terrorizing the people with guns and bombs to be heard? Is trying to solve the problem peacefully not enough? What exactly should I do so that the voice of this nobody is heard?
